I most certainly found this piece of art to be totally rad. And I mean really cool and very interesting. Who would have thought that a person would have the patience and the talent to create a life-sized VW bus from wood? I sure did not.

But the creator of the masterpiece, Lee Stoetzel, sure did.

He says that he is “very interested in the far reaching power of nature” and maybe that is the very reason why he likes to create quite so unusual stuff that would look like those items that we see and use in our day to day lives.

About the wooden VW Transporter van, this vehicle is mostly made out of wood although there are still some steel elements fused with it. I have really become an instant fan for this artist. I mean, imagine creating a vehicle out of just wood and some scraps of metal. Now that is talent. Stoetzel says that he used pecky cypress wood to make this piece of art. He calls his creation the VW Bus 2007.

At present, this wooden VW Transporter van is set out on display at Mixed Greens. I believe it is for sale and it comes with a $65,000 price tag.

But the VW Transporter van is not the only thing that Stoetzel has created. You see, he has also made other interesting pieces like a computer, and other rides. He has made two motorcycles. One is named the Chopper 2004 and he used wood to create this one. You can own it for $25,000. The other motorcycle is known as the Shell Motorcycle 2007. Now this one comes with a price tag stating $18,000 and it is made up of shells, pieces of metal, and plastic.

What I’m thinking right now though is if I can really ride these vehicles or would it be only used for display. You see, I’m after a vehicle that works!
